5 Spring-Cleaning Tips and Tricks for Digital Signage

Spring is nearly here, and that means spring cleaning. Time to get out those dusting cloths and mops and get to work. One area companies tend to overlook is their digital signage, so we have compiled a list of 5 Tips to Clean your Digital Signage with Care!
Tip #1: Don’t Spray Cleaners onto Those Screens!
Put down the cleaners! Spraying liquid cleaners directly at your monitor can do some serious damage to the electrical components. Instead, spray a small amount of cleaner onto a micro-fiber cloth and go to work. Finish with a dry cloth to keep your screens streak-free!
Tip #2: Vacuums Aren’t Just for Carpeting!
Small hand-held vacuums are great for cleaning built-up dust on the screen bezel and cables. Don’t forget the back of the digital signage too. Dust and debris can clog screen vents, so be sure to vacuum or use compressed air to spray those nasty dust particles away.
Tip #3: Sanitize Your Screens!
We all know the importance of washing your hands, but consider your touchscreens too! High-traffic touch screens need a deep spring cleaning as well as daily wipe downs. We advise using 70% isopropyl alcohol or disinfecting wipe, or a home-made solution of equal parts rubbing alcohol and distilled water. Make sure to avoid harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia which can cause unsightly discoloration.
Tip #4: Fingerprints be gone!
LCD Screens are best handled with a delicate touch. Pay special attention NOT to press down on the screens when trying to remove stubborn smudges. Refer to Tip#3 above for creating a smudge remover that will not damage your displays.
Tip #5: Consider Spring Cleaning the Content too!
When was the last time your content was refreshed? If it’s been more than a year, chances are you’re losing valuable patrons. Freshen up your digital signage content to attract and retain valuable clientele and keep them coming back for more!
